Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s largest airline, easyJet, has announced a brand-new route to Gran Canaria, giving North West holidaymakers the perfect excuse to swap the winter blues for sun-soaked beaches and stunning volcanic landscapes.

On sale from today, the twice-weekly service will launch on 27 October 2025, operating on Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter season. With fares starting from just £35 one-way (per person, including taxes), it’s never been easier to escape to the Canary Islands from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).

easyJet have over 640,000 seats now on sale for destinations from Liverpool for the Winter 2025 season, between 15 December 2025 and 22 March 2026.

Tour operator easyJet holidays will also be offering package holidays on this new service, with all packages including flights, hotel, 23kg luggage and transfers, covered by its Ultimate Flexibility – offering freedom to change a booking, a refund guarantee, and best price guarantee.

Holidaymakers can opt for a vast range of low-cost luxe getaways, to family beach break escapes, with free kids’ places widely available. 

The airline has been expanding its operations at Liverpool over the last year, having added a seventh Airbus A320 family aircraft to its fleet this winter and introducing nine new routes to Split, Malta, Fuerteventura, Prague, Berlin, Marrakesh, Derry, Sharm el Sheikh and Oslo.

easyJet launched services from Liverpool for the first time in October 1997, with flights to Nice, Amsterdam and Geneva where it now bases seven Airbus A320 family aircraft and employs nearly 400 people including Pilots, Cabin Crew and Engineers.

Today, the airline operates up to 328 flights a week, offering 27 routes to 17 countries across Europe and North Africa and has flown over 53 million customers since operations at Liverpool began.
