Experience a slice of Santorini at Zeus Taverna Castle Street

A slice of Santorini is arriving in the heart of Liverpool as Zeus Taverna officially opens its doors on Thursday, April 3rd, on the bustling foodie hotspot of Castle Street.

Inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of the Greek islands, particularly the beloved holiday destination of Santorini, Zeus Taverna promises an authentic experience with its textured whitewashed walls, turquoise blue accents, and hand-painted depictions of Greek gods and goddesses. The restaurant’s décor has been thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of traditional Greek tavernas, creating a welcoming and immersive environment for diners.

The menu features a delectable selection of tapas and small plates, including much-loved Greek classics such as souvlaki, moussaka, kleftiko, and appetizers like tzatziki and dolmades. Alongside traditional offerings, Zeus Taverna introduces unique seafood dishes, with octopus, prawns, and mussels taking center stage, as well as fresh and vibrant specialty salads.

A spokesperson for Zeus Taverna shared their excitement ahead of the grand opening:

“The refurbishment has been both a challenge and a joy. Every element of the design has been carefully curated to transport our guests to Greece. The textured walls mimic the architecture of Santorini, the floral decorations reflect the island’s natural beauty, and the quartz surfaces in blue tones were chosen to represent the sea. We have also thoughtfully crafted 15 new dishes to complement our traditional Greek menu. We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated team who helped bring our vision to life and can’t wait to welcome our guests.”

Adding to the immersive experience, the restaurant’s interiors feature trailing floral arrangements reminiscent of Greek gardens, alongside a striking illuminated cave feature, echoing the grotto-like buildings of Santorini’s volcanic landscapes.

Zeus Taverna will officially open to the public on Thursday, April 3rd, following two exclusive preview evenings for invited guests on Tuesday, April 1st, and Wednesday, April 2nd.
