Merseyrail helps local businesses shine with new station showcase
3 minutes ago

Merseyrail is giving local businesses across the region a boost with a new scheme that will put them in the spotlight at stations during Local Business Week this September.
Running from 22 to 26 September 2025, the Merseyrail Local Business Showcase will give independent businesses the chance to show off their products and services to the thousands of passengers travelling on the network every day — completely free of charge.
Merseyrail is inviting businesses based within two miles of its stations to apply now for one of the pop-up spots. Those chosen will get dedicated space at a station to promote what they do, with more than £20,000 worth of free promotional space up for grabs.
The showcase will also be supported by in-station and digital advertising, helping even more people discover brilliant local businesses. In return, businesses taking part will be encouraged to make a donation to Merseyrail’s official Charities of the Year.
Suzanne Grant, Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy Managing Director at Merseyrail, said:
“This new showcase is all about using our network to do good for the communities we serve. We want to give local businesses a chance to connect with customers and show what makes them special.
“Merseyrail stations aren’t just places to get on a train — they’re places where people discover what’s happening in their neighbourhoods. We’re proud to play a part in helping businesses grow and bringing communities closer together.”
The scheme is part of Merseyrail’s ongoing commitment to support the Liverpool City Region’s goal of being the best place in the country to start or grow a business — and to make public transport a key part of local success stories.
Businesses can apply online from 1 to 25 July and can choose which station they’d like to appear at.
