Bowring Park and Golf Course
Bowring Park will be hosting two free family football events to coincide with England Lionesses’ fixtures at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
The ‘Kick-off at Bowring’ events will take place on Saturday 5th July and Sunday 13th July, with activities running from 1pm to 5pm, building towards live match screenings at 5pm inside the Coach House.
The centrepiece of each day will be two free, bookable football activity sessions for girls and boys, delivered by Hey Football from 1–2pm and 3–4pm, designed to get young people active, inspired, and involved in the game. Sessions are free to attend, but places are limited and advance booking is strongly encouraged.
The events aim to bring the local community together through accessible, inclusive and engaging experiences, with a strong focus on grassroots sport, outdoor activity, and community pride.
One of the highlights of the day will be a special visit from Everton Women’s goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, whose presence will offer inspiration and visibility to young players and aspiring footballers in the community.
The days will also feature a performance from a football freestyler, adding to the vibrant and interactive atmosphere on site.
Confirmed activities include:
- Free football activity sessions (1–2pm and 3–4pm) delivered by Hey Football.
- A retro football merchandise stall from Soccer Locker UK, offering classic kits and collectables.
- A traditional sweet stall provided by Tuck Shop.
- Face painting and glitter hair styling by local makeup artist Laura Flynn.
- Inflatables and outdoor play equipment
- Live screenings of the England matches inside the Coach House (limited seating available).
- Local women’s football teams will be in attendance to raise awareness of their work and engage with the next generation of players.
