Books in Bars celebrates 5 years with a special Liverpool event
2 minutes ago

Books in Bars is marking its 5th anniversary with a celebration that Liverpool’s book lovers won’t want to miss. The Life of a Bookswapper returns to Arts Bar on Hope Street on Sunday 2 November, and there are only a few free tickets left.
The event will bring back the iconic book swap alongside quizzes, raffles, live performances and other surprises. Since 2023, Books in Bars has been turning its regular swaps into fundraising events for people in Palestine, raising nearly £3,000 for various aid charities – a total the team hopes to surpass at next month’s event.
Each event has been packed with generous prizes donated by local businesses and attendees, including literary-themed goodies, Blind Date with a Book packages, and more.

Alongside the swapping frenzy, local musicians and performers will take to the stage to soundtrack the evening. Previous events have featured artists such as Motel Sundown, The Quietman, Naomi Campbell and The Hushtones – all of whom have been featured on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 1.
Poet Madelaine Kinsella will return to share pieces from her acclaimed debut pamphlet Scouse Brows, and a new line-up of musical acts will be announced later this month.
If your shelves are full of books waiting for a new home, this is your chance to swap them for something fresh while enjoying a great night of live entertainment.
Free tickets are available now via Eventbrite, but once they’re gone, only donation tickets (minimum £1) will remain.
