The Sefton Park Hotel unveils £250,000 refurbishment plans for Victorian villa

The Sefton Park Hotel, has begun an extensive refurbishment of its 16-bedroom boutique hotel, housed within a stunning Victorian villa overlooking Sefton Park.

The £250,000 transformation is set for completion by Spring 2026, promising an elegant blend of modern luxury and timeless heritage.

The refurbishment includes upgraded bathrooms, lighting, and furnishings, while carefully preserving the property’s original period features. Each of the new bedrooms will feature Victorian-style sanitaryware, marble tiles, brass fittings, and wood panelling, creating an atmosphere of refined sophistication. Thoughtful lighting and elegant décor ensure every room radiates both comfort and charm.

With four rooms already completed, guests can experience a “modern vintage” aesthetic, combining contemporary elegance with the historic character of the building. The design vision throughout the property has been curated to deliver a timeless, relaxing atmosphere in one of Liverpool’s most beloved settings.

The project also includes upgrades to the hotel’s public areas and event spaces, including the restaurant and bar, which will soon open seven days a week. Boasting panoramic views across Sefton Park’s iconic boating lake, the hotel is an ideal setting for weddings, celebrations, and weekend getaways.

Just ten minutes from Liverpool city centre, the beautifully restored Victorian villa spans three floors and includes 16 ensuite rooms and a self-contained garden coach house accommodating up to six guests. The lower ground floor features a newly refurbished event suite with a draped marquee, offering capacity for 120 seated guests or 200 for receptions.

The restaurant, a stylish, intimate space seating 30, has become known for one of Liverpool’s finest Sunday roasts and an elegant à la carte menu set to launch at the end of January along with a welcoming bar area with picturesque park views. The expansive outdoor terrace gives added charm to the venue’s prime location.

Adding to its allure, The Sefton Park Hotel holds a special place in Liverpool’s musical history. It was once the family home of Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bassist of The Beatles, from 1940 to 1962. In tribute, the hotel showcases a curated collection of photographs and memorabilia celebrating Sutcliffe’s life and artistic influence on the city.
