Free sensory-friendly Easter fun day for families at Liverpool Central Library
3 hours ago
Families across the Liverpool City Region are being invited to a free Easter holiday event at Liverpool Central Library designed to be fun, inclusive and educational for children of all ages.
Little Smiles For Everyone is a sensory-friendly activity day taking place during the school holidays, giving children the chance to learn about oral health through play, exploration and interactive sessions.
The event has been developed with local partners including Liverpool City Council and the University of Liverpool. It aims to help families build confidence around supervised toothbrushing and everyday dental care while keeping children entertained in a relaxed environment.

Although the day has been created with children with special educational needs and disabilities in mind, it is open to all families and everyone is welcome to attend.
Little Smiles For Everyone takes place on Thursday 2 April 2026 from 11am to 3pm in the Children’s Room at Liverpool Central Library. Families can drop in at any time during the session.
Activities will include toothbrushing tips and demonstrations, personalised advice from dental professionals, sensory-friendly games and interactive learning stations. Children will also receive take-home toothbrush packs and resources to help continue healthy habits at home.
By combining hands-on activities with informal support from dental experts, organisers hope to reduce anxiety around dental care and encourage positive routines in an enjoyable way.
The event forms part of a wider community legacy programme linked to the European Association of Paediatric Dentistry Congress, which will be hosted at ACC Liverpool from 1 to 4 July 2026. The international congress brings together specialists from around the world to share knowledge on improving children’s oral health and is supporting local initiatives that benefit families across the city region.
Little Smiles For Everyone is supported by the University of Liverpool, ACC Liverpool, the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry, Public Health Liverpool, Liverpool City Council Neighbourhood Team, Liverpool Central Library, LFC Foundation, Everton in the Community and Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
