Epstein Theatre sets the stage for Easter with The Wizard of Oz

Liverpool families are being invited to follow the yellow brick road this Easter as The Wizard of Oz heads to the Epstein Theatre for a week of panto fun.

Presented by Regal Entertainments Ltd following its successful Christmas season, the much-loved classic runs from Friday 3 to Thursday 9 April 2026, with tickets on sale now from £20.

Audiences can join Dorothy and Toto on their journey to the Emerald City, meeting the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion along the way. Alongside the familiar story, the production promises colourful sets, lively choreography and a soundtrack packed with big numbers for all ages.

Liverpool performer Mia Molloy takes on the role of Dorothy. A graduate of Liverpool Theatre School, Mia has previously appeared in a string of Regal Entertainments productions including Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty at St Helens Theatre Royal, as well as roles at the Floral Pavilion, the Atkinson in Southport and the Royal Court.

She is joined by David Heath as the Scarecrow, Shea Ferron as the Tin Man, Hannah Riley as the Lion, Hayley Russell as Glinda, Katy McKenna as the Wicked Witch and Warren Donnelly as the Wizard.

David Heath is known to many as a former X Factor finalist with Eton Road and has previously played the Scarecrow at both St Helens Theatre Royal and the Epstein. Shea Ferron trained in Manchester and has performed with Johns’ Boys Male Chorus, who reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent. Hannah Riley returns to the Epstein following previous panto roles including Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Hayley Russell reprises her role as Glinda, having previously appeared in Regal’s Wizard of Oz productions, while Katy McKenna brings her experience from a wide range of pantos and stage shows across Merseyside. Warren Donnelly, familiar to TV audiences from Shameless, Coronation Street and Cold Feet, completes the cast as the Wizard.

Director Chantelle Joseph says the team is looking forward to bringing the much-loved story back to Liverpool audiences, following the success of Cinderella at the venue last Christmas. She says the show is designed to be enjoyed by all generations, with the traditional panto mix of humour, spectacle and live performance.

The Wizard of Oz runs at the Epstein Theatre from 3 to 9 April 2026. Tickets are priced at £29 for adults, £28 for concessions and £26 for children, plus booking fee.
