The 26.2 mile run, on Sunday 1st March 2026, will be the FOURTH of the six World Marathon Majors that Sergio Aguiar has set out to conquer.
So far he has completed marathons in Berlin, Chicago and New York, with Tokyo, Boston and London next on his list.
Sergio, who lives in Southport, is running to reach out to people from around the world to support the Alice’s WonderDance Foundation that he and wife Alexandra founded in memory of their beloved daughter, Alice, 9, who tragically died in the Southport tragedy.
Her spirit carries on through Alice’s WonderDance, which empowers young people through dance programmes, wellness initiatives, and creative expression.
Alexandra & Sergio Aguiar said:
“Sergio and I are getting ready for our trip to Tokyo!
“It will be an unforgettable experience, and we are incredibly excited. This will be Sergio’s fourth of the six World Marathon Majors.
“We carry our daughter in our hearts every step of the way, and the name of the foundation proudly by our side.
“We are deeply grateful for all your support and kindness, and we count on your continued help to keep spreading the word and raising more funds for Alice’s WonderDance.”
Sergio Aguiar began his challenge at the Berlin Marathon in Germany on 21st September 2025.
This Sunday he takes on the Tokyo Marathon.
That will be followed by the Boston Marathon in the USA on Monday 20th April 2026 before his finale at the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026.
Alexandra & Sergio Aguiar said:
“Alice’s WonderDance is a foundation we created to carry forward Alice’s beautiful legacy.
“Alice was more than a dancer – she was a beam of light. Kind, inclusive, fair, and full of joy, she made sure no-one around her ever felt left out. She welcomed everyone into her world with open arms and an open heart.
“We want to continue what Alice did so naturally – to make dance a place where every young person feels included, valued, and empowered to shine. That’s what Alice’s WonderDance is all about.”
Alice’s WonderDance Foundation was established in 2025 to empower young people through dance programmes, wellness initiatives, and creative expression.
