Nisha Katona celebrates 10 Years supporting Claire House with hospice visit
2 hours ago
Nisha Katona brought her family’s beloved horse to Claire House Children’s Hospice, giving children an unforgettable afternoon.
The Mowgli founder, well known for her appearances on This Morning, Sunday Brunch, and her own ITV series Nisha Katona’s Home Kitchen, spent time chatting with staff before introducing the children to gentle giant Spotty.
The four children stroked Spotty’s nose, fed him treats and posed for photos together in the hospice garden.
The memorable visit marked Nisha’s tenth year supporting the hospice, which cares for seriously and terminally ill babies, children and young adults. It’s a charity Nisha describes as “part of her family”.
Through The Mowgli Trust, Nisha and her teams have donated £550,725.95 to Liverpool charities, including £326,549 for Claire House.
Nisha said:
“Claire House feels like a child I’ve adopted. It’s an amazing charity; it changes the lives of so many incredible families. Supporting Claire House gives me and Mowgli such a sense of mission, and meeting some of the children helped by the hospice is always so joyful.”
The amount raised for Claire House, which also has a Liverpool site in West Derby, contributes to a Mowgli Trust total of £2,675,497 for charities since it began.

Nisha, who was also accompanied by her daughter India and their dog Klaus, added:
“Charity gives business heart. It makes good business sense to be charitable, because your people come to work feeling fulfilled and nourished.
“To date, we’ve raised £326,549 for Claire House. It’s our way of putting our arms around the community we live in. Every member of the team knows they’re making a real difference to the lives of babies, children and their families.”
At Mowgli’s Liverpool Water Street restaurant, staff invite diners to add a discretionary £1 to the bill for Claire House – a simple gesture that has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds. Teams also take on charity challenges, from abseils to Tough Mudder events, while Mowgli has held its own Mowgli Dog Show.
Jennifer Hanley, Corporate Fundraiser at Claire House, said:
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome Nisha and Spotty to the hospice. Their visit brought so much happiness to the children, and it reflects the incredible generosity behind this partnership.
“The amazing amount Nisha and Mowgli have raised helps us continue to do what we do – from providing specialist nursing care to creating precious memories for seriously ill children and families when they need them most. We simply couldn’t do it without supporters like them.”
