Six new food and drink venues to discover across Sefton

If you’re in the mood for a leisurely brunch, tasty lunch, dinner, cocktails, or street food on the beach, there are a range of new venues in Sefton to suit every taste.

You can head over to Churchtown for a classy new neighbourhood restaurant, French pastries in Formby, or small plates in Crosby.

There’s also the return of the Bus Yard on the beach, a popular sandwich truck with a new permanent home, and an Irish bar to catch all the sport this spring.

Here are six new Sefton venues to try out.

SageHouse, Formby

SageHouse opened late last year and is proving hugely popular with Formby diners and drinkers.

With its French bakery vibe by day and cocktails and small plates at night, it’s a stylish addition to the village with great food matching its classy look.

There is a varied brunch menu, great coffee, fresh juices and friendly staff.

The pavement café is currently being developed for spring and summer when this will be a gorgeous place to hang out, sip a cold drink and people watch.

SageHouse, 4-6 Chapel Street, Formby. Phone: 01704 443399.

The new venue boats 16 large TV screens showing every major sporting event, interactive darts boards, a free to play pool table and fruit machines.

With a 2am licence, live music and DJs at the weekend as well as a hot food menu, there is something for everyone at this large and lively Irish themed bar.

Opening on 1st April this stylish venue is the new place to get the irresistible sandwiches and great coffee previously on sale in the Crowland Street food truck of the same name.

Owner Yasmine Walby-Dyer has moved to bigger premises after the huge success of the venture which she only started last year.

Crumbs & Grind Co will open on the newly pedestrianised Market Street, after the £6m revamp of the Market Quarter.

Yasmine also hopes the café will be a place for people to gather and chat as well as enjoying favourites like the Classic Caesar sub, Mediterranean Avocado bagel or Chicken Parm, all washed down by speciality coffees.

Crumbs and Grind Co, 14 Market Street, Southport. Opens 1st April.

From breakfast through to evening drinks, this classy neighbourhood hangout opened in November 2025 and has quickly established itself as a firm favourite.

Suzie’s took over the space formerly occupied by the former Boxtree Nurseries cafe on the corner of Cambridge Road and Manor Road.

The big corner plot lends itself to being a great spot for people watching.

The retractable roof over the terrace ensures a cosy indoor/outdoor area and will be perfect when the weather gets warmer.

With a menu featuring brunch classics, lunch choices like paninis and sandwiches, a varied evening selection and Sunday lunches, Suzie’s is proving a great choice whatever time of day you visit and a lovely addition to the buzzing village offering in Churchtown.

Suzie’s: 192 Cambridge Road, Churchtown, Southport.

The combination of delicious Mediterranean inspired food and great wine has seen booking soar and the Sunday roast is also going down a storm with diners.

Vine and Fire is the brainchild of Josh Stanton, from Crosby, who has spent his working life in catering in the local area, and is relishing being able to bring his vision to life.

As well as the regular menu, you can enjoy While You Wait options like Rosemary & Sea Salt Focaccia or Black Pudding and Chorizo Bon Bons.

Dining deals include two small plates for £15 or one While You Wait item plus three small plates for £25.
