Victoria Park reveals packed 2026 events line-up in Southport

Victoria Park in Southport is gearing up for one of its biggest years yet, with a packed programme of events set to run right through 2026.

The 34-acre site, best known as the home of the Southport Flower Show, will host everything from food festivals and fireworks to comedy, cars and live music – with around 160,000 visitors expected across the year.

Running from spring through to autumn, the line-up includes the return of major crowd favourites like the British Musical Fireworks Championship, Southport Comedy Festival and the ever-popular Southport Food & Drink Festival.

The Food & Drink Festival kicks things off in late May with three days of street food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities, while summer brings a mix of high-energy events including a Summer Solstice music festival and a CrossFit competition weekend.

Car lovers are also catered for, with both a dedicated car and family festival in May and the Great British Motor Show arriving in September, showcasing hundreds of classic and modern vehicles.

One of the biggest dates in the calendar is the Southport Flower Show, which celebrates its 102nd year this August. The four-day event attracts around 50,000 visitors and remains the UK’s largest independent flower show, combining horticulture with celebrity guests, live demos, music and family attractions.

Later in the year, the British Musical Fireworks Championship returns with its signature choreographed displays, before the Southport Comedy Festival takes over a luxury marquee in the park for more than two weeks of live shows from big-name comedians.

There are also plenty of smaller events across the year, including artisan markets, antiques fairs and Oktoberfest-style celebrations bringing a Bavarian twist to the seaside town.

Victoria Park continues to play a key role in the Southport community, offering a large, accessible green space while also hosting major events that help support its upkeep. Income generated from festivals and shows is reinvested back into maintaining and improving the park.

General Manager Alan Adams said the team is expecting its busiest year to date, with more organisers choosing Southport as a destination for large-scale events.

He said Victoria Park remains “the jewel in the crown” of the town, bringing people together for both free and ticketed events while remaining open to the public throughout the year.
