Inside Sefton Park Hotel’s stunning new bistro and bar opening this week

A fresh new dining spot is opening its doors opposite one of Liverpool’s most-loved green spaces as Sefton Park Hotel unveils its brand-new Sefton Park Bistro and Bar this May.

Opening on Thursday 15 May, the stylish new Sefton Park Hotel is part of a £250,000 transformation of the historic Victorian hotel by The Sefton Collection – bringing a brand-new gastro-style menu, refreshed interiors and a relaxed new space for locals and visitors to enjoy.

Overlooking Sefton Park, the bistro and bar has been designed as a welcoming spot whether you’re stopping off after a park stroll, catching up with friends, heading out for date night or simply fancying a Sunday roast with a view.

Set inside the hotel’s beautifully restored heritage villa, the new-look space combines the building’s historic character with a modern, laid-back feel, creating what the team describes as a relaxed lounge-style atmosphere for hotel guests and locals alike.

The menu will serve up a mix of classic comfort food and elevated bistro favourites, with dishes including traditional fish and chips, premium beef burgers, pan-fried seabass and chicken supreme.

There’ll also be vintage afternoon tea on offer, plus the hotel’s much-loved home-cooked Sunday roasts with all the trimmings.

And if the Liverpool weather plays nice, guests can make the most of the hotel’s outdoor terrace – complete with seating for up to 100 people, seasonal planting, all-weather umbrellas and stunning views across Sefton Park.

The launch is the latest phase in wider improvements across the hotel, with all 16 guest bedrooms being redesigned, upgrades to leisure and event spaces, and the addition of a new draped marquee capable of hosting up to 200 guests for weddings, celebrations and corporate events.

The hotel itself also comes with a bit of Beatles history too – once home to original Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe.

Megan Hanson, General Manager at Sefton Park Hotel, said: “Sefton Park Hotel has a unique heritage, once home to Beatle Stuart Sutcliffe, and its setting opposite the park makes it a special place to spend time.

The Sefton Park Bistro and Bar will be open to both residents and non-residents from Wednesday to Sunday, serving food from 12pm–9pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm–8pm on Sundays. The hotel bar will remain open seven days a week.
