The Block Armed Forces Foundation will host a special sleep-out for charity at St Luke’s Bombed Out Church, in Liverpool.

This charity sleepout, taking place on Friday, 15th May 2026, aims to raise awareness and funds for the ongoing challenges faced by military service leavers across the UK.

The sleep-out aims to bring together local organisations, veterans, volunteers and the public for an evening focusing on shining a light on the harsh reality that many former service personnel face after leaving the Armed Forces. Participants will spend the night outdoors in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness, raising vital funds and awareness for support services that assist veterans in crisis.

Homelessness, especially among ex-service personnel, remains a significant issue. Many veterans often encounter difficulties transitioning to civilian life, due to issues such as mental health struggles, financial hardship, social isolation, and lack of stable accommodation.

The charity’s founder, Colin Eastaway, who previously served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the Paras, said:

“This Sleep Out is about more than one night outdoors. It’s about starting conversations, bringing good people together, raising awareness, and showing support for the men and women who have served our country and are now facing some of the hardest battles of their lives.”

The setting of this charity event offers a unique and iconic backdrop to highlight these important issues, symbolising resilience, remembrance, and community unity. The public is encouraged to attend and support this special event or take part in fundraising efforts. There will be opportunities at this event to learn more about the issues affecting veterans and the support networks available too.

The Block’s Bombed Out Church Sleep Over is happening on Friday, 15th May 2026, and you can donate online now to help towards the cause.
