Team behind The Watering Can launches new bakery in Sefton Park

The award-winning team behind The Watering Can has launched Frankley’s Bakery in the heart of Sefton Park.

Known for creating one of the city’s most loved café-bistro experiences, the hospitality team has expanded with the introduction of its own artisan bakery, producing freshly baked breads, pastries and sweet treats daily from a dedicated bakery space inside sister venue The Wheelbarrow on Greenbank Lane.

From Thursday to Sunday, visitors can pick up fresh bakes directly from The Wheelbarrow from 9am to 4pm, while the eye-catching Frankley’s Bakery trailer will serve park-goers every Saturday and Sunday from 9am–5pm on the outskirts of Sefton Park near the boating lake.

Designed to complement a leisurely day in the park, the trailer will offer artisan pastries and breads alongside premium coffees, speciality teas, matcha drinks, lattes, iced and soft drinks – perfect for local residents, walkers, families, cyclists and weekend visitors looking to relax and refuel in one of Liverpool’s most scenic green spaces.

The bakery’s handcrafted range includes brioche rolls, Parisienne baguettes, focaccia and sourdough, as well as indulgent pastries including all-butter croissants and speciality puff and shortcrust creations and seasonal favourites.

Owner Keith Perryman said:

“Frankley’s Bakery is all about creating quality experiences for our customers. Sefton Park is such a vibrant leisure destination, and we wanted to bring something special for people to enjoy while spending time outdoors with friends and family. Everything is baked fresh daily and designed to be enjoyed in a relaxed, social setting.  We also wanted to give the customers at The Wheelbarrow and The Watering Can consistently great quality breads and sweet treats using the finest quality ingredients.”

The launch also supports the recently launched Luxury Afternoon Tea experience at The Watering Can, showcasing the bakery’s fresh breads and pastries as part of an elevated dining offer.

Named after the owners’ two Dogue de Bordeaux dogs, Frank and Stanley, Frankley’s Bakery combines artisan craftsmanship with a welcoming neighbourhood feel, adding a new lifestyle-focused food destination for both locals and visitors enjoying Sefton Park.

Frankley’s Bakery is now fully operational and serving customers across both restaurant venues and the wider Sefton Park community. Whether you want to buy bread and pastries to take home, or enjoy a treat whilst you enjoy Sefton Park, Frankley’s Bakery has all you need to make every visit a memorable one.
