Little Lights appoints first ever Chief Executive Officer

Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice has announced the appointment of Christian Logue as its first-ever Chief Executive Officer.

This marks a significant milestone as the charity continues its transformation from Liverpool Zoe’s Place to Little Lights and prepares for the opening of its new purpose-built hospice in West Derby in Liverpool.

An exciting addition to the team Christian joins Little Lights with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across the

healthcare, sport and not-for-profit sectors. With a background in strategy development, operations, transformation and customer experience, Christian brings a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable to the journey the charity is on.

His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the charity as it continues its transition to Little Lights and prepares for the opening of its new hospice. The organisation is entering an exciting period of development, focused on strengthening services for babies and children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, while ensuring families continue to receive the highest standard of specialist care and support.

As Chief Executive Officer, Christian will lead Little Lights through this next phase of its journey, overseeing the organisation’s strategic direction, supporting the move into the new hospice and helping to secure the long-term sustainability of the charity so it can continue supporting families across the region for generations to come.

Founded in 1995 as the UK’s first hospice dedicated to babies and young children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, Liverpool Zoe’s Place has provided specialist nursing care, respite services and end-of-life support to thousands of families. As Little Lights, the charity is building on this legacy while creating brighter opportunities for the future.

Christian Logue said:

“I am incredibly proud to be joining Little Lights at such an important and exciting time in its history. The organisation has an outstanding reputation for providing compassionate care and support to babies, children and families facing some of life’s most difficult challenges, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to help shape its future.

“Little Lights has a remarkable legacy and an ambitious vision for the years ahead. As we prepare for our move into the new hospice, there is a real opportunity to build on that legacy, strengthen our services and ensure even more families can access the support they need when they need it most.

“Together with our dedicated staff, volunteers, supporters and trustees, I look forward to leading the organisation through this exciting next chapter and helping to secure a strong and sustainable future for Little Lights.”

Karen Livesey, Chair of Trustees, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Christian as our first Chief Executive Officer. This is a landmark moment for Little Lights and Christian joins us at a time of enormous opportunity and ambition.

“His extensive leadership experience, strategic vision and commitment to making a positive difference will be invaluable as we continue our transition to Little Lights, prepare for our move into the new hospice and strengthen the foundations of the charity for the future.

“We are entering one of the most exciting periods in the charity’s history. With a new hospice on the horizon and a renewed identity as Little Lights, we have a unique opportunity to grow our impact, strengthen our services and support more families across our region. We are confident Christian will play a key role in helping us achieve that vision.”

The new hospice, currently under construction at Hayman’s Green, West Derby, will provide modern clinical facilities, enhanced family support spaces and therapeutic environments designed to meet the growing needs of families across the Liverpool City Region.

As Little Lights prepares to move into its new home, Christian will lead the organisation through this transformational period, ensuring the charity remains focused on its mission of providing specialist care, creating precious memories and supporting families throughout every stage of their journey.
