Royal Albert Dock welcomes Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen
6 years ago
There’s a brand new artisan coffee shop opening at Royal Albert Dock and it’s a proper family affair.
Independent artisan coffee house, Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen is opening its second outlet at Royal Albert Dock on Saturday 8th September 2018, with 50% off food for its week-long soft launch.
Specialising in wholesome, freshly mad food, the café, which was launched in Waterloo in 2017, will bring a diverse menu of locally sourced meat, fish, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes to its new waterfront home. The family run business is spear headed by husband and wife team Graeme and Clare Farrington, and while Graeme is the boss in the kitchen, Clare and her brother Sean manage front of house.
The latest independent to take up residency at the historic waterfront site, Peaberry House Coffee and Kitchen is part of the dock’s commercial owners Aberdeen Standard Investments’ commitment to reshaping the retail and lisure offering, with a focus on emerging brands and businesses.
A chance meeting with one of the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool team led to Graeme and Clare viewing a unit in 2017, Graeme said: âWeâre still very much a young business but both Clare and I recognised that red-hot opportunities like this don’t come along every day and we knew we had to grasp it and take full advantage of what was being offered.”
Clare added: ” We would never have dreamed about having a cafĂ© on the Dock. As city residents, to us the Dock has always been the most prestigious of addresses and only for the likes of national operators. By reaching out to small independents the Dock team as given us the confidence to expand our business and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first dockside customers next month.”
Making the most of its new space on the Colonnades, with a 45-seated casual restaurant on one side and an open kitchen with sandwich counter and bar on the other, Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen gives eat-in diners and takeaway customers a unrivalled sweeping views of the dock.
The café is named after its signature single plantation Brazilian Peaberry coffee beans, which are unique to the coffee house. Special guest coffees will be available on a weekly basis, alongside great-tasting, locally sourced breakfast and lunch options. Merseyside favourite, The Little Macaron Shop, will be on hand to bake delicious patisserie cake and rainbow coloured Macarons on a daily basis, in addition to the house-baked vegan cakes , which will include everything from cherry and almond scones to gluten-free vegan flapjacks.
Diners can also quench their thirst with a variety of beers and craft ales from Love Lane and Wigan Beer, alongside wines from Clarke Jones.
