Watch: We take you inside the Winter Ales Festival taking over St George’s Hall this weekend

Peanut butter and raspberry jam ale anyone?

This weekend (Friday 26th and Saturday 27th January, 2018), Liverpool’s much-loved St George’s Hall will be filled with 200 different beers and ciders as Real Ale Events return to the city for the 4th Winter Ales Festival.

The organisers recently hosted another busy September St George’s Hall Beer Festival seeing more than 4,000 attendees and the same is expected for the Winter Ales Festival, with ticket already flying out. The Great Hall is a much-loved venue for many and this beer festival proves more popular each year. With the hundreds of different beers on offer there’s something for everyone.

Watch above as our Jay meets organisers, Dan and Sophie to find out more about the huge range of drinks on offer.

The beer and cider selection are from all around the UK, with some brand new additions from York and North Wales, plus Liverpool Organic Brewery are hosting a hand pull bar too.

There is the option of VIP tickets for those who want to beat the queues for tokens – VIP tickets include a reserved table on a stage in the Great Hall, unlimited real ales and ciders, alongside a token to be exchanged for a selected spirit at the indoor gin garden.

Bringing back the summer vibes, the Indoor Gin Garden adds another dimension to the Winter Ale Festival, widening the offer to those who are not just fans of a pint. There’s a range of boutique gins, spirits, craft canned beers, wine and prosecco. Whatever your tipple…they’ve got you covered!

Feeling peckish? There will be a range of old favourites and new independent food vendors to help line your stomach. Peninsula Pies, Liverpool Cake Company, and Liverpool Cheese Company are returning this year, plus, straight from the Baltic Market, Skaus are debuting, selling their famous Scouse as the perfect winter warmer. We cannot wait for this!

The event will run over 4 sessions from Friday 26th to Saturday 27th January 2018. Tickets start from £7, including a souvenir half pint glass and programme to take away. Events Director, Katie Jones, says, “People love this building and it’s great to be able to put on such an enjoyable event to ease us into 2018.”
