Lunya is getting a bigger, brand-new home at Liverpool One

Lunya, the family-owned Catalunyan restaurant bar and deli, is moving to a new location at Liverpool ONE. As part of its expansion plans, the award-winning Spanish eatery is moving two doors along the road in October to the corner of College Lane and Hanover Street, opposite BBC Radio Merseyside.

Owners Elaine and Peter Kinsella are investing a further £150k into the new site and an additional 10 new jobs will be created, taking the Liverpool workforce to 55.  Lunya will close its existing site and make the move overnight to its new location. An exact date is still to be confirmed. Lunya’s new location will offer a more integrated dining, bar and deli experience, while maintaining the cosy and elegant styling the brand has become famed for.

The restaurant and bar will serve the best of Spanish gastronomy in a relaxed and informal setting, with a huge array of Spanish wines, spirits, beers and gins, while the deli will continue to offer the best products from Spain. The move will also allow Lunya to consolidate its business, expanding the range available in its deli and increasing the number and size of its regular events, which range from wine and food tasting evenings to gin experiences.

Using Liverpool ONE as a base to raise awareness among customers, Lunya has grown to become the UK’s largest online Spanish food and drink deli. Elaine said: “Although we and our customers love our existing site in Liverpool ONE, an opportunity arose with a new location offering all the extra space and facilities that was just too good to miss.  We’re confident all of our many loyal customers will love it.”

Lunya is a significant addition to Liverpool ONE’s Hanover Street, which has become established as one of the most exciting dining destinations in the North West. The news coincides with an increase in restaurant sales at Liverpool ONE, as visitors are increasingly choosing Liverpool ONE for a day-out experience which combines both shopping with leisure and socialising.
