Take a look inside new Iberian Bar ‘BoBo’, now open on Castle Street
4 years ago
New Iberian wine bar and cafe, Bobo, is now open on Castle Street.
BoBo occupies the former Veeno site and sits amongst some of the cityâs most popular restaurants and bars.
BoBoâs feels like a slice of European cafe culture in the middle of the city and is an ideal central place to meet, chat and catch up or sit quietly with a coffee and watch the daily comings and goings on Castle Street.
Serving Spanish and Portugese inspired drinks and snacks all day, menu highlights include chorizo sausage rolls, fresh pastel de nata custard tarts, charcuterie and cheese boards, jugs of sparkling sangria and a diverse and interesting wine list. An all day grazing brunch offer at weekends is in the pipeline too.
Steven Burgess, Managing Director of Lucky Penny Group, the team behind the creation of Bobo, said:
âWe love the food and drinks of Spain and Portugal but didnât want to just do another tapas joint, we wanted BoBo to feel a bit more modern and contemporary.”
The interior features a stunning antique chandelier, warm amber lighting, rendered walls and evocative dark green tiling.
The building contractors Sefco, said:
âOur brief was to combine a bit of the modern and the new; we knew the chandelier at the front was perfect for this project and when combined with some more modern prints and art on the walls, it makes it feel a bit more up to date.â
BoBo is the latest addition to an array of diverse and quality hospitality-focused establishments in and around the Castle Street area.
This includes its sister venue Abditory bar, which is located on Queen Avenue, only a stone’s throw from Castle Street and is the second venue from Lucky Penny Consultants, also located on Queen Avenue.
