Set on Christmas Eve, the story follows the miser Ebeneezer Scrooge, who is visited by the tormented ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns of the impending arrival of three spirits—Past, Present, and Yet to Come. As each ghost takes Scrooge on a journey through his life, he is forced to confront past mistakes, seize opportunities for change, and try to alter his grim future.
