A Coffee Lovers Guide to Liverpool

It’s UK Coffee Week and we’ve been absolutely wired for about three days trying out the best city coffee shops to bring you this handy guide! Swerve that instant rubbish and give these a try!

 1 – 92 Degrees Coffee – Hardman Street. Situated on the corner of Hardman Street and Hope Street, 92 Degrees coffee is the perfect place to fully appreciate National Coffee Day. The coffee shop is light and has a relaxed feel and as the first combined coffee shop and micro roastery in the city, you can taste unique blends of beans, spanning the globe, roasted right in front of your eyes! 2 – Wall of Fame – Victoria Street. Wall of Fame has become a thriving hub for coffee lovers, as a result of its diverse stateside inspired selection that is available both in-house and to take away. Try the flavoursome Wall of Fame Macchiato, a milky coffee served with caramel, a double shot of our espresso and topped with fresh whipped cream, for a coffee with a twist!

3 – Moose – Dale Street. A huge hit with the business community, Moose pancakes are famous the city over, but did you know their coffee range is huge too!? Their authentic American short order menu is complimented by a range of premium espresso based coffee and their own special blends. 4 – Delifonseca – Dockside & Fonseca’s Stanley Street. Delifonseca is serving up the exclusively named ‘Delifonseca Espresso Blend’ courtesy of its partnership with independent speciality coffee roasters Neighbourhood Coffee. The premium house espresso blend  is served at Fonseca’s ‘Downstairs’ Café Bar and at Delifonseca Dockside, and is also stocked for purchase at its popular food hall. Get on it!

5 – Trattoria 51 – Old Hall Street. Located on Old Hall Street in the heart of the Business District, Trattoria 51 might not be your first thought when it comes to lifting a mug to National Coffee Day, but aside from a fabulous dining menu, the state-of-the-art Caffe-Bar area also offers Italian barista style beverages created using Illy Coffee, the premium Italian roasting company. That’s your lunchtime caffeine fix sorted!

6 – Bold Street Coffee – Er, Bold Street! Bold Street Coffee work with professionals who care about coffee, food and camaraderie as much as they do. Behind the bar and in the kitchen, everyone brings something unique and as testament to that, their Cortado is rated the best among dedicated espresso drinkers around the city. You’ll also be able to get your fix from Bold Street at various festivals, launch events and conferences across the region. Cheers!

7 – The Brink – Parr Street. The UK’s first and Liverpool’s only dry bar, The Brink, is serving up a selection of barista beverages alongside a huge range of mocktails, smoothies and fresh presses. With coffee beans locally sourced from independent roaster Adams & Russell, The Brink serves up a delicious caffeinated offering including Espresso, Flat White and Mocha to name a few. If you’re a real coffee aficionado, The Brink is a must visit!

8 – Euro Hostel! – Stanley Street. Just a short walk from the commercial district, The Hatch Bar provides the perfect pit-stop for morning coffee meetings and lunch with work colleagues. General Manager Emma Wright said: “Whether it’s an early morning necessity or a mid-day pick me up, our barista beverages have become a firm favourite with both hostel residents and the surrounding business community alike. National Coffee Day is the perfect excuse to enjoy a guilt-free day of sheer caffeine indulgence.” Drop in and try it out!

9 – Cafe Porto – Rodney Street. You wont find a cafe more authentic and steeped in tradition to celebrate National Coffee Day, than Cafe Porto. Tucked away in the Georgian Quarter with tables on the pavement to enjoy the Autumn sun, coffee lovers rave not only about the Portuguese blends but also the vast array of homemade cakes that owner Pedro makes daily. A great place to people watch!

10 – Cow & Co Cafe – Cleveland Square. This little gem of a coffee shop, gift store and amazing butty maker is just off Hanover Street and they source their phenomenal beans from Origin coffee. As they buy ins mall quantities the range changes frequently to bring the Liverpool masses a unique taste on each visit! (The greek yoghurt and wild blackberry waffle is divine!!) 11 – Costa Coffee Queens Square. For those who are true to the big names in coffee, did you know there’s a brand-spanking new branch in Queens Square? Right next to Five Guys, the spacious coffee shop is absolutely ideal for a pick me up if you’re going for the bus after work, quiet enough for work meetings, and big enough to manoeuvre a buggy about if you have little ones! Large caramel latte to go please!
