A festival of storytelling has launches at Liverpool ONE.
And this year’s Story Season promises to be bigger and better than ever – with even more for visitors of all ages to enjoy; all inspired by everyone’s favourite literary characters.
A whole host of popular children’s book characters, including Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit; Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Cat in the Hat and Tinker Belle were spotted around Liverpool ONE where they read stories to visitors and gave out a host of Easter treats.
The well-established reading trees have returned to Paradise Street and bookworms are encouraged to share their love of reading by bringing a book and leaving it behind to share with others. Visitors are invited to take a book home with them too from one of the shelves nestled within the tree trunks.
Unveiled in time for Easter and available throughout the school holidays, ’Story Season’ offers the perfect opportunity for families to take a seat and indulge in a familiar classic or discover a new read.
In addition to the trees, there will be a series of special reading sessions hosted across Liverpool ONE for families to enjoy.
Liverpool ONE is once again working in conjunction with The Reader, the team behind The Storybarn at Calderstones Park. Throughout April, The Reader will bring a taste of its popular Storybarn to Liverpool ONE entertaining families as the written word is brought to life.
Donna Howitt, Marketing Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “We are proud to play our part in encouraging people to discover or grow their love of reading. The reading trees have always proved a popular haven in the heart of the city centre and are enjoyed by visitors of all ages. This year we have added new features to our ‘Story Season’ and hope families will discover a range of activities to enjoy.”
The Story Season runs until June 3.
