AR Leisure, the group behind Abbey Road Bar & Kitchen, DWNTWN and Harrison’s Bar & Kitchen & Aparthotel, are pleased to announce the launch of their new live sports and music venue, Scruffy Murphy’s Irish/American Bar.
Situated on Harrington Street, between Castle Street and Matthew Street, it is a venue which is going to be all about live music, sports and good times.
Scruffy Murphy’s has seen AR Leisure invest significantly in the development of the site, to create the ultimate meet up place, offering not only a wide selection of draught beers and frozen cocktails, but also the coolest entertainment zones featuring 17 screens of live sport, 2 pool tables, and iconic retro arcade machines.
Local artist Paul Curtis has worked with AR Leisure on several occasions and has painted iconic sporting icons in the entrance area of the site, including Larry Bird and Irish jockey Ruby Walsh.
Scruffy Murphy’s will open daily from midday and will serve food, feature live music every evening from 7 pm and host Big Band Karaoke nights.
This will allow participants to join in with their favourite songs from Queen to Ed Sheeran and everything in between. As Liverpool is also famous for its love of sport, Scruffy Murphy’s will be covering major sporting events, with extra late night openings for the biggest upcoming boxing matches from the United States.
As an added bonus, AR Leisure have invested in a full Bose sound system which has been installed by Studiocare to ensure the best possible audio experience whether customers are at Scruffy Murphy’s to enjoy live music or to view and be immersed in their favourite sporting events.
With such a busy football schedule just being announced, as well as the mid-winter World Cup in Qatar this November, this will be the ultimate venue to get involved.
Nicola Leppert, Business Development Manager for AR Leisure comments:Â
“Due to the success of our sister venues, Abbey Road and Harrison’s, we decided to keep the theme of providing live music and sports as they have proven to be hugely popular with our customers. Scruffy Murphy’s will offer something slightly different with a larger stage area to showcase local music talent and we will have karaoke with a twist, as guest singers have the chance to sing along with a live band.
“There’s a range of retro arcade machines to give you that nostalgic feeling and a wide selection of draught and bottled beers to choose from. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our opening at the end of July.”
This flourishing group is anticipating busy trading ahead, consolidating its already considerable portfolio and preparing to celebrate more success with Scruffy Murphy’s.
