Absolute Body Solutions has launched a new gym on Castle Street

Liverpool gym brand Absolute Body Solutions has added to its portfolio of premium personal training facilities with a new location at 14 Castle Street.

The new 2,000sq ft location has just undergone a £200k refurbishment.

Formerly a club for Civil Servants in Merseyside, the new venue was nicknamed ‘The Civvy’ and saw performances from The Searchers and Gerry and The Pacemakers.

According to local legend, The Beatles performed there five times in 1961, with tickets costing three shillings.

The venue then became a pub called Castle Court, owned by LFC defender Tommy Smith, but fell into a state of disrepair.
The overhaul of the space has seen top-of-the range equipment installed into the new gym facility, which has become ABS’ new flagship location.

ABS, which also operates sites in Speke and Manchester City Centre, is renowned across the North West for its high quality personal training. Sessions are by appointment only, and since its inception in 2012 the firm has become known for the impressive results of its six-week transformation programme.

The gym clientele is largely made up of local businesspeople, with sports stars in Liverpool often going in for intense workout sessions and Love Island contestants favouring the Manchester gym for their pre-show transformation ahead of heading into the Villa.

The new Castle St gym will offer a range of transformation options, as well as bespoke nutrition and exercise plans tailored to each new client that walks through the door.

The gym is set for a grand launch event on Saturday 22nd January. If you’re passing by you will be able to pop into the gym where there will be celebratory drinks, a live DJ and on the day competitions.

Despite its tough sessions, Connor and his team are keen to make clear that everyone is welcome at the gym.

Connor also welcomed the support people across Liverpool have shown towards gyms: “Our session numbers are now at pre-pandemic levels, which is why we felt confident in opening this new gym. It’s clear that people in Liverpool want to get back to normal, and for thousands of people the gym is not only a vital part of maintaining their physical health, but also their overall mental wellbeing.”
