Headliners announced for Salt and Tar Fringe Festival
2 days ago
Tickets are now on sale for the headline events at next year’s Salt and Tar Fringe Festival, Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May 2025 in Bootle.
Two evening shows at the Salt and Tar Fringe’s will feature a host of comedy stars including Clinton Baptiste, Maisie Adam, and Mick Miller. Both will be hosted by Brendan Riley.
Following on from the success of the past two years’ Comedy Weekenders, the Fringe Festival will bring four days of free-to-attend entertainment as well as other ticketed events. These will include workshops, performances and street entertainment at Bootle’s fast-growing entertainment venue. And there will be a full range of street food and drink outlets on site.
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment said:
“Based on the popularity of our previous Comedy Weekenders, we have decided to extend the event in 2025 to the first Salt and Tar Fringe, where we will celebrate all things comedy, music, culture and arts.
“It will be four days of events, most of them free, for local people to enjoy right on their doorstep. Plus, we have line-up of some of the country’s top comedians for two evening shows that I’m confident are going to be sure-fire sell-outs.”
Next year’s Salt and Tar Fringe Festival was unveiled on the same day earlier this month that Liverpool City Region Combined Authority confirmed a £585,000 funding package for Salt and Tar. This support adds to Sefton Council’s continued investment in the venue, as we work to transform Salt and Tar into a permanent destination and ensure its integration with the Strand and the wider town centre.
In addition to May 2025’s Fringe, August will see the four-night music weekender returning to Salt and Tar, from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th August. St Helens band the K’s have already been confirmed for Friday 8th and more headliners will be announced soon.
Last year’s event was attended by over 11,000 music lovers from across the world enjoyed this year’s Music Weekender, headlined by red Rum Club, Status Quo and Sir Tom Jones.
