Africa Oyé needs YOU! Volunteer call out for 2019 festival
5 years ago

Each year, an enormous amount of effort goes into ensuring that Africa Oyé takes place. Due to the ever-growing popularity of the event this is becoming increasingly challenging. That is where you come in!
The role of an Oyé Representative is an essential part of the festival, the opportunity to meet our audience only comes around once a year. You will be working with us focusing on ensuring the survival and growth of the festival by creating positive relations with our attendees and raising funds to sustain future festivals.
Throughout the day Oyé Reps would be: collecting donations; selling raffle tickets; having attendees complete questionnaires and distributing information about the festival.
This year Oyé falls on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of June. We are looking for support on both days between 12pm and 9pm. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours of your time or more if you would like.
The two days are a fantastic celebration of the music and culture of Africa and the Diaspora and volunteering will give you an opportunity to be part of the festivities, to meet a variety of people and help keep the event free for future generations.
You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly and helpful with an interest in culture, music and some of knowledge of the festival would be an advantage but is not essential. You will need to make your own way to and from the festival site but there are plenty of public transport options and it is a beautiful cycling/walking location.
