Albert Dock Food Festival: Watch all the highlights from day one on the dock
5 years ago
Paella and rum cocktails on the dockside in the sunshine you say? It could only be day one of the first ever Albert Dock Food Festival – FEAST.
More than 40 stalls lined the inner dockside of the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool today as the first ever Food Festival – FEAST got underway. The popular floating pontoon was given a makeover and hosted a number of chef masterclasses during the day. Hosted by celeb chef Andi Oliver, a whole host of Albert Dock restaurants took their menus onto the water to show the crowds how to create their most popular dishes, at home. Disco Cauliflower anyone?
With the entire inner Albert Dock area busy with stalls, including small plates from the likes of Lunyalita, Panam, Peaberry Coffee House, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Maray, Tate Eats, Madre, Pie Port, and more. Revolution De Cuba and The Smuggler’s Cove served up thirst quenching cocktails while The Cheshire Cheesecake Co and Puffle Waffle took care of dessert.
Anchor Courtyard captured the last of summer festival vibes with plenty of places to sit and soak up the atmosphere. With live DJ’s and plenty of tasty eats, we ask what you loved most about day one of the Albert Dock Food Festival- FEAST. Watch above as festival-goers share their favourite restaurants, bars and festival highlights.
As with any Albert Dock event, there was plenty of family friendly fun to be had too. Mermaid Courtyard hosted two tents filled with free drop-in arts, crafts, storytime and pizza making sessions. Hartley Quay was the backdrop for a HUGE inflatable and very friendly lobster and hilarious acrobats, while Albert Dock store, The Nest brought a whole host of local artists to the inner dock area with portraiture, clay workshops, face painting and more.
We have well and truly feasted, but the fun doesn’t stop there. If the sound of filled pittas, freshly made paella, dirty dogs, Cheshire cheesecake, halloumi fries, salt n pepper chicken wings, loaded tacos, puffle waffles, pancakes and everything in between, gets your belly rumbling, why not join us down at the Albert Dock tomorrow for day two?
