The Albert Dock is the perfect place to explore during winter with lots of brand new attractions for 2019. Wrap up warm and explore the boutiques and museums before resting your feet with a glass of bubbly and a delicious meal, with unrivalled views of the waterfront.
With an exciting programme of events to come, including the ever popular Folk on the Dock festival and more, here’s our top pics for what’s on this January at the Royal Albert Dock.
1 – Tate Liverpool, Uniqlo Tate Lates
On the last Friday of the month, the Tate Liverpool invites guests to join them after hours for an eclectic mix of art, music, film and workshops. Find emerging and established DJs selected by NTS Radio, alongside world-class exhibitions, discover pop-up talks, playful artistic activations, and hands-on workshops, along with delicious food and drink offers. This month’s inspiration comes from The C C Land Exhibition: Pierre Bonnard: The Colour of Memory. The event takes place on 25th January 2019 from 6pm-10pm and is free.
2 – Revolucion de Cuba, Salsa Social
Have you vowed to take up a new hobby in 2019? Then this one is for you. Revolucion de Cuba is inviting guests to join them for a bit of hip-shaking salsa dancing with their Salsa Social event. Offering two classes for both beginners and intermediates, you can learn some new moves before practicing them on the dance floor; the perfect way to have fun and burn off some of those extra Christmas calories. Salsa social takes place on 8th January 2019 from 7.30 & 8.30pm.
3 – Revolution, New Year Dining Deal
One of January’s best perks is the great food and drink offers to be enjoyed around Liverpool, with Revolution offering 50% off all food every day, throughout the month. Those on a health kick can enjoy a variety of fresh, flavoursome dishes that can be washed down with a vitamin rich drink. Why not feast on the warm duck salad, washed down with a ‘Kalein Me Softly’ – a lean, green and clean blend of apple juice, fresh kale, pineapple, mango puree and apricot syrup.
3 – Panam, Limited edition £5 Winter Menu
Eating out doesn’t have to break the bank, and those looking to save some pennies this month whilst still enjoying them selves can head to Panam to enjoy their mouth-watering menu of starters, mains, desserts and drinks, all for just £5 each. Diners can feast on everything from hearty Seafood Chowder with crusty bread for dipping, to warming Cajun Winter Stew and indulgent Sticky Toffee Pudding. Available from 7th January 2019.
4 – Gifts, Home wear & Treats from The Nest
If you’re looking for artwork, home wear, jewellery, toys, gifts and cards, all designed and crafted by local artists, then head to The Nest at Royal Albert Dock. You can pick up bespoke chopping boards, handcrafted bracelets, baby booties, stunning artwork, coasters and even a sparkly Liver Bird, all under one roof.
5 – Winter Warmers from Lunyalita
Get warmed through with Catalonian coffees or treat yourself to a glass of the finest Spanish wines at Lunyalita this January. Although be warned, it’s highly likely you wont be able to resist the divine tapas on offer too! The sharing boards are as good to look at as they are to eat!
