Allerton Manor Golf Club’s Championship Course gets an upgrade

Golf, upgraded- exciting relaunch of Allerton Manor Golf Club’s Championship 18-Hole Course, following unprecedented investment in ‘Pay and Play’ course.

The much-loved  Pay & Play golf course, Allerton Manor Golf Club (formerly Allerton Park) has undergone a dramatic transformation after 6 months of course improvement works to their 18-hole course, following the appointment of Allerton Golf Trading Ltd as operating partner at the Club by Liverpool City Council.

The former operators of Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa have invested significant sums in a refurbishment process which has seen new life breathed back into a course which had fallen past its prime.

Allerton Golf Trading Ltd enlisted the expertise of IDG (International Design Group), PGA affiliated Golf Architects with a résumé that comprises numerous first class golf courses around the world, including the golfing hubs of Dubai, USA and Asia. Allerton Manor is the first municipal, Pay & Play golf course in the UK to undergo this kind of high level refurbishment, and Saturday will see completion of the first phase of works which includes new elevated championship tees, reshaping of fairways and revetted bunkers installed around the course. Golfers will also be delighted to find a brand new Halfway House and terrace awaiting them behind the 8th Green, complete with a telephone for convenient pre-ordering!

Pay and Play golfers will experience the kind of quality features usually reserved for private member’s Links style courses, but that now sit pride of place in Allerton Manor’s mature, parkland course.

The upgraded look and feel can also be attributed to heavy investment in in state of the art TORO greenkeeping machinery, used across championship courses around the world, and the greenkeeper artistry evident in the sculpting and recontouring of the course’s greens and fairways.

Golf Manager and PGA professional Bryan Joelson-Mulhall, who joined the Club recently from Eccleston Park, says ‘The upgrades that have taken place at Allerton Manor are the kind that you would usually expect on a European Championship course. We have brought these changes to Allerton Manor to create a challenging test for a new generation of golfers, pairing them with totally refurbished clubhouse facilities to create a high-end resort-like feel, in the heart of South Liverpool, whilst remaining totally accessible to the general-public’.

With attractive season ticket options for all ages, and affordable Pay and Play green fees, Allerton Manor offers a fantastic golfing location, just 5 miles or 10-minute drive from Liverpool City Centre.

Re-launching this Saturday with its full offering of 27-holes, including an additional 9-hole Academy course, anticipation is at its peak as golfers, both beginners and those with more experience, flock to enjoy the new and improved holes, and enjoy its stylish food and drink offering at The Old Stables Restaurant over this Bank Holiday weekend.
