Almost Famous is BACK… And it’s going to be DIRTY AF!

D2, the team behind PINS Social Club, has swooped in to save the nation’s juiciest, most outrageous burgers, taking over the Almost Famous (AF) sites in Liverpool and Manchester NQ and securing the future of one of the UK’s most iconic burger brands.

Led by D2’s new Managing Director (and former AF Operations Director) Daniel Kelly, the group have acquired both the Manchester NQ and Liverpool sites (due to reopen Friday 21 and Monday 24 February respectively) along with the much-loved brand and of course, the Bacon Bacon Mayo!

That’s right, they’re rolling up their sleeves, bringing the band back together, firing up the grills, and getting ready to serve those iconic, messy, eat-with-three-hands burgers to the loyal AF fanbase.

Almost Famous first blew minds (and ruined shirts) back in 2012, instantly becoming a cult obsession – long lines, rave reviews, and burgers that made other burgers feel bad about themselves.

After a wild 13 years of pure indulgence, the previous owners shut the doors in January 2025, leaving a gaping, burger-shaped hole in the hearts of many…

But not for long!

Don’t call this a comeback… it’s a homecoming. Daniel Kelly is stepping up to bring the brand back to life. Having been part of the company during its peak, Kelly knows exactly what made Almost Famous magic – unapologetic flavour, ridiculous indulgence, and a whole lot of fun.

Daniel Kelly said:

“We’re buzzing to get Almost Famous back, hire as many of the old team as we can, get the grills on and the burgers flying out.

“I’ve been part of this brand and I know what it takes to maintain its bigger, better, and make-it-outrageous approach.

“We’re here to bring back the legendary AF experience – killer service, next-level food, and all the chaotic, messy, unforgettable vibes that made Almost Famous, well… Famous.”

For the directors of D2, the acquisition of Almost Famous is another bold move in their growing portfolio.

Their PINS Social Club has been praised for its innovative approach to hospitality and entertainment since its launch in 2020 and is rumoured to be announcing an upcoming Manchester site.

Now, they’re bringing their signature immersive energy and hospitality know-how to Almost Famous.

Don’t panic… D2 isn’t here to rip up the rulebook. They get it. These aren’t just burger joints; they’re cult institutions.

Expect the same flavours, the same patties-to-the-wall energy, and the same no-forks-given attitude. Just dialled up to MAX.

And this is just the beginning, with Almost Famous reborn and a PINS Manchester site on the way, D2 isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
