Arriva launches 211 service around Speke following the closure of ArrivaClick
2 days ago

Arriva is relaunching a bus service to help Speke residents get around, following the closure of its demand-responsive transport option ArrivaClick.
The 211 service will replace it from Monday, April 14.
The 211 had previously served the same part of Speke, but was replaced by ArrivaClick, which will now close on Saturday, April 12.
The new 211 service will cover 90% of the previous routes, enhancing accessibility and providing direct connections to important shops and Hunts Cross railway station, offering greater convenience for passengers.
ArrivaClick, a flexible service that allowed customers to book rides when they needed them, has been a useful option for many local residents.
Arriva has worked closely with Merseytravel to ensure those customers can still get around.
The 211 bus service will provide a more regular, fixed-route option, covering a broader area.
Adam Marshall, head of commercial for Arriva North West said:
“The old 211 service was much-loved by the community so we hope we’ll see them embracing its return.
“Of course, we understand that the closure of the ArrivaClick service has raised concerns for some of our customers but we were committed to finding a solution.
“The 211 bus service has been designed to offer greater accessibility, including easier access to retail areas and a direct connection to a station, ensuring that our customers continue to have reliable and convenient transport options.”
The new service will run hourly, starting at Morrisons in Speke, doing a loop around the neighbourhood before travelling to Hunts Cross station and a number of other shops and supermarkets.
It will be a standard Monday-Saturday service, so normal tickets will apply and concessionary bus passes will be accepted on board from 9.30am on the hail and ride service.
