Backyard Cinema’s critically acclaimed screenings of Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 1996 film Romeo+Juliet are set to make their Merseyside debut this September.
After captivating over 100,000 fans in London, these exclusive screenings of Romeo+Juliet will take place at the stunning Grade II listed St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
This unique cinematic experience features the classic love story, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, in an unforgettable setting.
The intimate and atmospheric candle-lit aisles of St George’s Hall’s timeless concert room will enhance the viewing, making it one of the UK’s most mesmerising venues for such an event.
The famous movie soundtrack will be brought to life by live musicians and a choir performing before the film, during the interval, and after the screening.
Expect to hear beloved tracks such as “Young Hearts Run Free,” “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good),” “When Doves Cry,” and many more, creating an immersive experience that will set spines tingling.
Dominic Davies, Backyard Cinema’s Founder & CEO, said:
“I can’t wait to show Liverpool our most famous show Romeo+Juliet with a live choir, and where better to host this epic event than Liverpool’s St George’s Hall. It’s truly a special show and I couldn’t be more excited.”
Hannah Sweeney, Head of Venue Operations at St George’s Hall, echoed his enthusiasm, added:
“We knew the splendour and opulence of St George’s Hall would be the perfect setting for their epic Romeo+Juliet show. After seeing it in London, we knew we had to host it. There won’t be a dry eye in the house.”
