Bar 53 to put on Charity event to say thank you to Merseyside Fire services
5 years ago
A major blaze destroyed parts of Bar 53 on Berry Street in Liverpool a few weeks ago in the early hours of August 15th.
Fire crews tackled the huge fire for more than eight hours. The roof and floors of 53° Liverpool collapsed and despite being unable to stop the building from collapsing firefighters, who used an aerial platform, were able to stop the blaze from spreading to surrounding properties and businesses.
Since the blaze the team behind Bar 53 wanted to show their appreciation to the Merseyside fire services. So, on September 28th they are holding an event in Camp & Furnace with all proceeds going to the Fire Fighters Charity.

Bar 53 GM Andy Leary said “We are going to need a bit of time to tidy up the dance floor and we need a roof! but we will be back stronger in 2020 for sure. Thankfully nobody was hurt. And we would like to say thanks to our many industry friends and brilliant customers for their messages. But the real heroes where the fire service. They done a fantastic job and we want to help raise some much-needed funds for their charity.”
The Fire Fighter’s Charity helps with mental health, physical health and social well-being for thousands of firefighters across the UK. The team from Bar 53 are working closely on this event with Alan Knell the regional fundraiser for the Fire Fighters Charity.
