Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has kicked off its UK premiere with a sell-out opening weekend, drawing 9,000 visitors to Liverpool’s waterfront.
The multimedia extravaganza, which brings Vincent van Gogh’s masterpieces to life, will be at Exhibition Centre Liverpool until Wednesday, 24 July.
With 30,000 tickets already sold for the four-week run, the exhibit’s popularity is evident. The unique Saturday morning yoga sessions, where participants practice surrounded by Van Gogh’s vibrant works, have been so well-received that additional sessions are now scheduled for Sunday, 14 July, and Sunday, 21 July.
The exhibition was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Richard Kemp, at a special launch event attended by over 200 guests, including local celebrities Ricky Tomlinson, Andrew Lancel, OMD’s Andy McCluskey, and producer Colin McKeown.
Produced by Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group, Beyond Van Gogh covers an impressive 40,000 square feet, offering a visually stunning experience for all ages.
The exhibit features over 300 of Van Gogh’s paintings enhanced by cutting-edge technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack.
Iconic pieces such as The Starry Night, Sunflowers, and Terrace of a Café at Night come alive, creating an immersive journey through the artist’s world.
Visitors start their tour in the Introduction Hall, connecting with Van Gogh through his personal letters to his brother Theo.
The main attraction, the Immersive Room, allows guests to walk through dynamic projections of Van Gogh’s paintings, enveloping them in swirling colors and detailed landscapes. This immersive narrative experience appeals to a new generation of art enthusiasts and Van Gogh fans alike.
A wide range of merchandise is available at the on-site Beyond Van Gogh store. Yoga sessions take place at 9am on Saturdays (July 6, 13, 20) and additional Sundays (July 14, 21).
VIP Experience tickets offer selected merchandise, flexible arrival times, and fast track entry.
The experience has already captivated over five million people across North America and South America. Following its stint in Liverpool, the exhibition will move to Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus on 11 July and Birmingham’s NEC on 1 August.
Anna Parry, UK Business Development at Annerin Productions, said:
“Annerin Productions are overwhelmed by the outpouring of attendees and support throughout the opening weekend.
“We knew that Liverpool was a city of culture and that was truly seen at the Exhibition Centre this weekend. We can’t wait to welcome thousands more over the coming weeks. We couldn’t have asked for a better city to host the Beyond Van Gogh premiere.”
