Bold Street favourite Akasya celebrates being Liverpool’s number one again
4 days ago

There’s plenty to shout about at Akasya this summer as the popular Bold Street spot has reclaimed its title as Liverpool’s number one restaurant on Tripadvisor.
Since opening its doors back in summer 2021, Akasya has become a firm favourite for foodies heading to one of the city’s busiest streets for good eats and laid-back vibes.
Taking over the old Giancarlo Ricci designer boutique, the Turkish restaurant has gone from strength to strength, earning rave reviews for its fresh take on classic Turkish dishes, traditional charcoal grill, sweet treats like baklava and signature cocktails.
This week, it’s back at the top of Tripadvisor’s list of more than 1,800 Liverpool restaurants, after briefly slipping to second place last year — a testament to its loyal diners and hardworking team.
Yunus Emre Uğur, partner at Akasya, says:
“We’ve got a fantastic team who really love what they do and that shows in the experience people have when they come in. We always wanted to offer really good Turkish food at a price people feel good about — being number one again is just amazing for all of us.”

Spread over two floors with space for more than 100 covers, Akasya brings a buzz to Bold Street with its bustling atmosphere and modern twist on Turkish favourites, from juicy adana cooked over charcoal to house specials like beyti.
It’s not just Liverpool diners who’ve been impressed either — last year Akasya was handed the prestigious Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award, putting it in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide for consistently great reviews. Only a tiny percentage of the site’s eight million listings get that level of praise, so it’s no small feat for the team.
