Book now for hospice Christmas tree collection

St. Joseph’s Hospice will be out collecting Christmas trees from across North Liverpool and Sefton in January to raise important funds for the hospice.

Booking is now open so residents and businesses from Waterloo, Crosby, Thornton, Hightown, Formby, Maghull, Aintree, Bootle, Litherland and Netherton can book their Christmas tree collection slot before they have even bought their tree.

The Christmas tree collections will take place on 7th and 8th January for a suggested minimum donation of £10. Christmas trees can also be taken to the hospice, on Ince Road in Thornton, over the same weekend for a suggested minimum donation of just £5.

This year’s tree collection, which raises valuable funds for the hospice each year, will be run entirely by the hospice’s fundraising team and its dedicated team of volunteers and supporters. All donated trees will be chipped and used in the hospice grounds so it is a very environmentally friendly way to dispose of your Christmas tree.

Maxine Armstrong, head of fundraising and lottery at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said: “We will be collecting trees from a large area so we are appealing to anyone with their own van who would like to volunteer for a few hours over the weekend 7th and 8thJanuary. We will provide hot drinks and bacon rolls to keep you going. It’s always a fun weekend and it’s a great way to kick off the new year as you will be helping to raise money for local hospice care.”

Christmas tree collections can now be booked online by visiting www.stjhospice.org.uk where you can also make your donation.

To volunteer your help with collecting the trees in January (particularly if you have a van), please call us on 0151 932 6044/6046 or email events@stjhospice.org.uk.

Please note: Collections are only available in postcode areas L9, L10, L20, L21, L22, L23, L30, L31, L37 and L38.Registrations close on Wednesday 4th January or earlier if we reach capacity in your postcode area.
