Boxing Day to New Year here’s your Festive Ultimate Guide to the week ahead

The presents are unwrapped, the food supply has been demolished and all that’s left in the fridge are leftover sprouts and a bit of mash. It’s time to shake off your Christmas hibernation and venture back out into the fresh air!
Luckily there’s a whole week of events, gigs and family fun to be had, right on our doorsteps. Here’s your Festive Ultimate Guide for the week ahead.
Monday 26th December – Boxing Day
Footy Action
Everton have a busy week ahead with two away games and first up is Leicester away at 3pm in a traditional Boxing Day clash. Goodison has never seen so many brand-spanking new trainees! Across the water, Tranmere finish off their 2016 fixtures at 3pm with a home game against Macclesfield. Click here for last minute ticket availability.

Shop til you Drop
Got some Christmas cash burning a hole in your pocket? The majority of shops are open again from today, so you can indulge in a bit sale shopping! Liverpool One is open from 10-6pm, St Johns is open 10-5pm and the majority of other high street stores, from 10-5pm too. Click here for our full run down of festive trading hours.
Boxing Night in the City
Boxing night is now one of the busiest and best nights out of the year. You’re totally spoiled for choice with amazing club nights from the Baltic Triangle to Hardman Street and the Commercial District. Tuesday 27th December
Free Family Fun
The museums and galleries are open again around the city, if the kids are itching for a run about and the weather is pants, head on over the World Gallery to explore mummies, bugs and real life Nemo and Dory’s! Click here to find out more about opening times.

Liverpool take on Stoke City on Tuesday in the first of their two fixtures this week. We’re told its a sell out game so if you got a kit or short for Christmas and you’re going to the match, wear it with pride!

Tickling Sticks at the Ready

Family Films at FACT
We love nothing more than an afternoon at the movies and FACT, Wood Street is offering up a whole host of blockbuster hits this week, including Disney’s Moana and 2016 smash hit, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This years Liverpool Ice Festival has been hailed a huge success as it moved him to our Pier Head. Panto Fun with the Brekkie Queen
Time is running out if you’re planning to take in a panto this winter. One of the bigger stage productions the city has to offer is Snow White at the Empire, Lime Street. Radio City brekkie presenter, Leanne Campbell stars alongside Hollyoaks actress, Jorgie Porter and with a fabulous cast, musical score and slapstick comedy, they’ll have you all spellbound.
