Liverpool Soundz has just announced a city-wide battle of the bands competition that will launch in January.
Heats will take place at four venues in the city (District, Tunnel, Arts Club) and the final will be held at The Dome. Heats will take place from January to May 2026 and will feature 32 bands.
There will be a huge prize pot of £1000 for the winning act who will also win help with their merchandise designs from Toucan Tango and a press release from renowned Music PR company, Sonic PR. All finalists will also win a cash prize.
Organisers are looking for bands and groups across all musical genres, founder Craig McVeigh explains:
“We want to highlight the musical diversity of the city of Liverpool and are looking forward to helping to discover the next big thing to come out of the area.”
Bands will be selected by the public who will be voting for their favourites after each round of performances, supported by a panel of local industry professionals who will judge each act based on a number of criteria and ensure finalists are selected on musical merit as well as crowd appeal.
Liverpool Promoter Good Times have teamed up with four of the city’s most iconic venues to create a platform for new voices on the Merseyside music scene. Drawing on years of experience in live events and a strong international network, Liverpool Soundz is a passion project dedicated to expanding opportunities for local artists and celebrating the region’s distinctive talent.
Good Times have previously worked with some of the UK’s most exciting breakthrough acts, including Kneecap, Radio Free Alice, and The Amazons.
Applications to be part of Battle of the Bands are now open, but be quick as they close on 16th December 2025.
