Brand new showstopper cocktail Smokey Coconuts arrives at Dash Restaurant & Bar as they launch summer cocktail menu
5 years ago
The sharing cocktail for two comes served in a pair of Thai green coconuts, inscribed with Dash’s logo signature and delivered in a billowing cloud of smoke.
One of the coconuts is a modern twist on the traditional pina colada – filled with dark and white rum, coconut cream, in-house roasted pineapple cordial, pineapple juice, pistachio and macadamia syrup.
The second combines dark and golden rum with roasted pineapple cordial, pineapple juice, pink grapefruit juice, grenadine, angostura bitters and velvet falernum, the sweet and spicy citrusy syrup which gives cocktails a distinctive Caribbean flavour.

Smokey Coconuts is one of six fresh and fruity cocktails which have been specially created by drinks consultant at Tom Jones to complement the restaurant’s new seasonal dishes.
Adding to Dash’s existing New York-inspired cocktail list, the summer six are all based on islands from around the world, conjuring up exotic long-haul destinations and idyllic beach paradises.
“Visually they’re all absolutely beautiful and we’ve come up with a blend of ingredients which really reflects the authentic flavour and culture of each island,” explains Tom.
Alongside Smokey Coconuts, customers will need to have their cameras handy for The Pink Canary, served in a canary-shaped glass and drunk through the tail!
Inspired by the unique birds which live on the Canary Islands, it’s an extravagant mix of Fifty Pounds gin, strawberry infused vermouth, cucumber, mint, lemon juice, cranberry juice and Dash’s extra special in-house ingredient … Laurent Perrier Rose syrup, made by reducing an entire bottle of premium fizz.
Cocktail lovers can take a trip to the land of the rising sun with a Japanese take on a summer favourite – an Akashi Spritz made with citrus and sparkling sake, shiso leaves, Japanese black mint and garnished with fresh cherry blossom.
There’s also a South Sea Sling, recreating the vibrancy and flavours of the South Asian islands with Aviation gin and spiced mango puree, a Jack Daniels rye-based Rye-Tai inspired by America’s love for tiki culture, and a classic Venetian Bellini because every great cocktail menu deserves one.

And, if that wasn’t enough, there’s an extra little something special on the side too. Each South Sea Sling comes with a miniature bamboo cone filled with sugar nuts to eat while you drink, and every Venetian Bellini is paired with a side dish of Venetian olives.
“We’re always looking for ways to give Dash customers something new, unique flavour combinations and ingredients that they’ve never tried before,” says Tom, “and the new six cocktails add a real extra wow to our menu.”
