Brand new sports attraction set to launch on Brunswick Dock

The Padel Club has announced plans for a landmark new club at Brunswick Dock, which includes ten courts in a spectacular riverfront location.

The Liverpool Riverside development will deliver five state-of-the-art indoor padel courts, three outdoor padel courts and two indoor pickleball courts. The club is complemented by an outdoor balcony overlooking the River Mersey. This central waterfront setting makes it one of the most exciting padel destinations in the UK.

There’s a lot happening around Liverpool right now and The Padel Club is adding to the buzz with its latest development at Brunswick Dock featuring eight courts, 5 indoors and 3 outdoors with canopy, designed for year-round play, right in the heart of the city. Subject to planning, the new club will open early 2026.

Since its founding in 2022, The Padel Club has been at the forefront of providing community-focused sport and entertainment matched with world-leading facilities. The Padel Club’s Liverpool Riverside venue at Brunswick Dock continues that journey, blending world-class courts with a vibrant social space that celebrates the city’s energy and waterfront regeneration including the new Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore.

Kris Ball, CEO of The Padel Club and proud scouser, said of the announcement:

“I know first hand just how much Liverpool is a city that thrives on sport, culture and community. At Brunswick Dock we’re creating something truly special – a padel destination where players of all levels can enjoy the game in an iconic location.”

Padel, a sport that was started in the 1960s in South America, has become the world’s fastest growing sport in the last two years. Countries like Spain, Sweden, France and Italy have embraced the sport in recent years and social media is filled with footage from professional and amateur players taking it up.

Liverpool FC and Everton FC football players and coaches are very keen participants with footage in recent years showing these sport stars play before, after and even during training sessions as its low impact, high energy and fun attitude make it such a unique environment to build friendships and release some competitive energy.

“When I started The Padel Club back in 2020, it was a very new sport here in the UK and I could see the potential. Little did I think that my dream of getting to launch the best facilities for what is now, the fastest growing sport in the UK and in my home city on the iconic waterfront would ever happen. This will be a fantastic social sports club, right in the centre of the city. I am beyond excited and proud of the team for making this possible.”

A spokesperson close to the project added:

“Liverpool’s waterfront is undergoing an incredible transformation, and padel is part of that story. These new courts will not only provide world-class facilities but also connect people through a sport that is fun, social and accessible to all.”
