British Science Festival brings 100+ free events to Liverpool this September
21 seconds ago

The British Science Festival is back – and this year, Liverpool is taking centre stage. From 10–14 September, over 100 free events will pop up across the city, from the docks to the cathedrals, with talks, performances, art, workshops and more.
Expect everything from DNA jewellery making to dinosaur rap battles, sunrise raves to sci-fi geology tours at the British Science Festival. Big names include bionic arm ambassador Tilly Lockey, geneticist Giles Yeo, Time Team genealogist Sophie Kay, and a panel exploring nutrition and performance with scientists from Liverpool and Everton FC.

The festival isn’t just for science buffs – there’s dance, film, comedy and interactive installations for all ages. Highlights include Movema’s carnival-style performance on migratory birds at Liverpool Cathedral, hands-on space exploration at the Museum of Liverpool, and creative projects telling refugee stories and uncovering the city’s hidden histories.
This is the first time since 2008 that the British Science Festival has come to Liverpool, and it’s all thanks to a partnership between the British Science Association, University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.
All events are free but many require booking in advance.
Full programme and tickets are on this website.
