Camp and Furnace launch world’s first free running cocktail
9 years ago
Liverpool’s creative venue Camp and Furnace, known for its idiosyncratic ideas, today announce the latest addition to their cocktail menu, “The Free Runner”.
The revolutionary cocktail will be exclusively made to order by free runner Richy Squires.
Richy will make the cocktail in the conventional way positioned behind the bar in Camp and Furnace’s cocktail container. The cocktail holster will then be strapped to his body and unlike regular cocktails, will only be complete after it has been ‘rattled and rolled’ around the venue to ensure it is mixed to perfection.
The high-risk freerunning mixology process for this distinct cocktail will see the bartender leave his usual spot behind the bar and embark on a daring run of the venue. His journey will include backflips from containers and intrepid walks on the warehouse’s beams at heights of 30 feet above revelers below.
“The Free Runner” is made using Aviation Gin, described by the founders as the ‘world’s most mixable spirit’. The recipe includes Crème De Violette, Maraschino Liquour, fresh lemon juice and syrup.

The indoor-meets-outdoor venue, which promises to bring you all of the best things, from all of the best festivals, opened in 2012 and is made up from three ex industrial spaces; a furnace, a blade factory and a coach shed. They are combined to be one of the UK’s most adaptable creative spaces hosting a wide selection of regular and experimental events.
The cocktail will be exclusively available at Camp and Furnace on Fridays.
