Capstone Theatre to host elusive British electronic artist
6 hours ago

This November The Capstone Theatre welcomes an elusive British electronic artist whose music is as enigmatic as it is immersive.
Attending a Craven Faults show is often less like going to a “gig” and more like entering a sonic installation: audiences can expect to be enveloped in evolving textures, deep drones, ambient washes, and subtle rhythmic pulses. The emphasis is on atmosphere and mood rather than flashy stage production.

The concert offers a chance to suspend the usual expectations of stage presence or “hits” and lean into a more contemplative experience. With Craven Faults’ infrequent live appearances, catching him at The Capstone on 28th November will be a special occasion for listeners of ambient, experimental, and electronic music; an opportunity to slow down and immerse yourself in a unique experience like no other.
Craven Faults is a project shrouded in mystery: few personal details are known and the music is clearly meant to lead the narrative, not the biography. What we do know is that the sounds are compelling, drawing from ambient, Krautrock, long-form electronic and field recordings, often structured around slowly evolving motifs and scenic atmospheres.

The name is drawn from the Craven Fault System in the Pennines, anchoring the project to Yorkshire’s rugged terrain — a landscape that frequently inspires Craven Faults’ sonic palette. Emerging in 2017 with EPs on the Lowfold Works label (such as Netherfield Works, Springhead Works, and Nunroyd Works), Craven Faults gained attention for long, hypnotic tracks that unfold gradually, unfolding layers over time.
His debut full-length album Erratics & Unconformities arrived in 2020 on The Leaf Label, followed by Standers in 2023. Live performances are rare and considered special events. In September 2023, Craven Faults played his first live shows — four sold-out performances at Thwaite Watermill in West Yorkshire. Since then, his appearances have remained selective, making this Capstone show a meaningful opportunity for fans and newcomers alike.
Craven Faults plays The Capstone Theatre in Liverpool on Friday 28th November 2025.
