Wednesday 4th July 2018 is Independence Day……in America, but we love any excuse to bring a party across the pond and when it comes to raising a toast to the USA, its got to be done with a burger and beer hasn’t it? Liverpool has some of the very best hamburgers for the traditionalists alongside brand new stacks featuring all manner of chicken, seafood and lashings of melted cheese. Drooling yet?
The mother of all things jammed between a bun, has to be Almost Famous, Parr Street. From classics to double fat, oozing patties smothered in slaw, wonder onions and bbq cola sauce, you haven’t lived until you’ve tried to get your chops around a burger from this place. Check out the ‘This is Liverpool’ combo, double cheeseburger, salt n pepper chips, curry sauce, onions, peppers, chillies and peppered mayo….go ed!
Just look at that! The Prawnstar (minus the little googly eyes) looks every bit as amazing as a traditional plain beef patty and when a soggy gherkin just isn’t enough, why not switch up your toppings with wasabi tempura prawns instead! Get to GBK at Liverpool ONE to try it.
The burger traditionalists flock to Byron’s at Liverpool ONE for a classic, double ground beef pattie with fresh lettuce, tomato and red onion and mayo combination. For those feeling more adventurous, check out the Bourbon BBQ, Smashed Avocado and the brand new Ronaldo burger combos for a tasty treat.
Oh buttermilk chicken how we love you! And where best to devour a towering Massive Cock MK II (their words not ours) piled high with a buttermilk fried chicken breast AND thigh plus cheese sauce, IPA battered onion rings, pickles and garnished with a mini chicken burger! Oh momma it’s good!
We’re determined to make it to the bottom of the extensive burger list at Apocalypse Cow this summer, but with so many amazing combo’s to choose from, we’re gonna need some stretchy pants! Our current fave is the Lone Star Brisket and the World War Moo, oh and the Jerk chicken burger!
Reds True Barbecue has a history of creating some absolute masterpieces in a bun but the Donut Burger has to be our pick of the bunch. Featuring a beef patty, Unholy BBQ sauce, burger cheese, smoked bacon, crispy onions and dirty sauce……all between two sweet glazed donuts. God bless America!
There’s two Five Guys restaurants in Liverpool city centre now (does that mean it’s 10 guys?!) Queen Square and Liverpool ONE and both serve up huge beef patties loaded with fresh salad, gherkins and wicked shakes too. Go all American this Independence Day at Five Guys.
Bacon double, buttermilk fried halloumi, friend chicken, pickles, pink sauce, the list of add-ons for your burger at Death Row Diner is practically endless and it all comes served up in a foil tray you can slam dunk when you’re fit to burst with meat sweats.
Here’s one for the vegan/veggie burger lovers. Down The Hatch, Duke Street knows how to pimp up a bun, look at that monster! The Captain Jack features a freshly battered Seitan patty between a soft sweet pretzel bun. Lap it up!
Nabzy’s chicken burgers are so famous and so damn good, that we’re not sharing a picture of them for fear there’ll be rush on orders. Paired with red salt chips and a looming hangover, Nabzy’s chicken burgers are plain, simple, delicious and an integral part of any Liverpool night out.
