Children’s Peace Wall to open at the Liverpool Beatles Museum
2 days ago

Liverpool’s Children’s Peace Wall is set to open to the public for the very first time at a special event on 20 February at the Liverpool Beatles Museum.
This unique and powerful exhibition, inspired by the voices of children from around the world, is the brainchild of Liverpool Beatles Museum ambassador Tim Quinn.
Alarmed by increasing global tensions and calls from politicians to prepare for war, Quinn asked a simple but profound question: What if, instead, we prepared for peace?
Teaming up with the Liverpool Beatles Museum and children’s charity Liverpool Heartbeat, he launched a worldwide call to action, inviting children to create posters promoting peace. The response was overwhelming—artwork flooded in from across the globe, and now, these messages of hope and unity cover the walls of a dedicated space within the museum, forming a permanent exhibition.

The initiative follows in the footsteps of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, who in 1969 launched a massive international billboard campaign declaring “War Is Over! (If You Want It)” and sent acorns to world leaders as a symbol of peace.
The next step for the Children’s Peace Wall project is to compile the artwork into a book, which will be published by Liverpool Heartbeat and sent to world leaders across the globe—a tangible message of hope from the young people of the world.
This opening event offers a first chance to see this moving exhibition, hear more about the project, and celebrate the creativity of children who believe in a better future.
The opening event will take place on 20 February between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.
