City baby hospice Zoe’s Place invites people to pedal with a purpose to change lives
1 year ago
Liverpool baby hospice Zoe’s Place is inviting adventurers to join them on an exhilarating trek through one of the most amazing countries, India.
You’ll get the chance to walk inside one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal, and visit the Tigers at Ranthambore National Park.
And while its Cycle India Challenge might be one of the toughest tasks those involved might ever have embarked on, Zoe’s Place, which supports babies and children up to five who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, says it’s a chance to ‘pedal with a purpose’.
“This challenge goes beyond adventure,” adds Gina Earnshaw, Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser. “It’s about making a difference.
“It will help us to provide all encompassing care to babies, children, and their families.”
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, which has three pioneering bases including the one in West Derby, is the only UK children’s hospice that specialises in supporting early-years children with complex illnesses or profound disabilities with a wide range of diagnoses.
Its nurse-led care focuses on helping children make the most of everyday moments and experiences, with further support available for the whole family.
It offers a range of therapies and activities for children who stay with them for regular, short stay respite care, helping them to embrace their childhood. And, for those children who sadly need it, it provides end of life care and supports families after the death of a child.
The Cycle India Challenge in aid of Zoe’s Place will take place over 10 days in November 2024.
And anyone considering taking part is guaranteed an incredible journey, pedalling 450km through the heart of the Asian republic:
* Challengers will go through Rajasthan, known as the Land of the Kings
* They’ll cycle through Ranthambore National Park amid its stunning landscapes, home to tigers and a host of other wildlife
* They will get the chance to admire and capture memories of the iconic architectural masterpiece which is the Taj Mahal, and
* Explore the magical city of Delhi, with a mix of vibrant cultures and traditions
Organisers say it’s a trip that will change lives – including that of all those taking part.
Gina says: “If anyone is ready to accept the challenge in aid of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, then let’s come together and pedal with a purpose, and make an impact beyond the trails.”
Zoe’s Place is holding an Open Day on Saturday, September 16 when anyone interested in taking part can find out more about what is an undoubted experience of a lifetime, and anyone wanting to attend can register HERE.
