Clatterbridge Cancer Charity holds festive end of year celebration on Grosvenor’s Eaton Estate
3 months ago

Supporters of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity enjoyed a festive evening in the Chapel on Grosvenor’s Eaton Estate, home to the Dukes of Westminster.
Hosted by Angela Samata, speakers included Brian Barwick OBE who will be joining the Charity as Chair of Trustees in 2023, Eleri Reece-Jones, a patient at Clatterbridge and award-winning actor and screenwriter Celyn Jones who gave a captivating version of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas during the service.
Entertainment included a performance by mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge, a Patron for the Charity who was accompanied by the SingMe Merseyside Choir, led by Billy Hui.

Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only charity directly supporting patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. At this special event, those attending heard about how the Charity’s £150,000 Arts In Health fund supports patient wellbeing and recovery at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, providing visual artwork, workshops, activities and performances for local people with cancer.
The evening was rounded off with a fabulous raffle, and huge thanks must go to Chef Paul Askew who donated a very special prize; the Art School’s show piece tasting menu and wine flight for four people.

Brian Barwick OBE said:
“I am very proud to join this incredible Charity that many of us know and respect. It’s been a pleasure to share this evening with so many supporters and patients who have gathered together to celebrate Christmas, and to hear first-hand accounts of the care given at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.”

Katrina Bury, Head of Charity said:
“I would like to thank everyone who attended this evening, especially the performers and readers for contributing to a truly wonderful event. I would also like to express my gratitude to His Grace, the Duke of Westminster, for his kindness in providing the Eaton Chapel which helped create such a magical atmosphere.”
