Clockworks in Wolstenholme Square officially launches its brand-new restaurant in time for Valentine’s Day weekend.
After reopening the popular Clockworks bar in late December 2024, three young entrepreneurs – Rhys Keeley, Jack Ruttledge, and Ethan Cowling – are now bringing a premium steak-focused menu to the historic venue.
One of the Clockworks Directors, Jack Ruttledge said:
“We are pleased to announce the opening of our restaurant at Clockworks. It has been a busy time for us, first opening the bar in late December and since then working on opening the restaurant side of the business.
“We are going to be focusing on premium steak cuts, including both Wagyu and Black Angus, sourced from trusted local suppliers. Dishes available from our launch on Friday 14 February include 48 Hour marinated Black Angus Fillet, Ribeye and Sirloin, T-Bone and Tomahawk all served with charred on the vine tomatoes, wild flat mushrooms and house dressed rocket & watercress finished with Parmesan shavings.
“We look forward to welcoming customers this weekend and will have live music on the night from the fantastic Lucy Starr.”

Clockworks reopened in number 11 Wolstenholme Square in late December after a stunning refurbishment.
Set in an 18th-century merchant house where Parr Street opens out into the rejuvenated Square, the interior of Clockworks celebrates its industrial heritage with original features like exposed iron pipes and brickwork, while modern updates, such as sleek new flooring, warm lighting installations and luxurious marble bathrooms elevate the space.
Ethan Cowling added:
“We have recruited a great team of award winning chefs and are so excited to now have the restaurant side of the business ready to launch. The bar side of the business has been growing each week since we opened 6 weeks ago and now we look forward to operating fully as a bar & restaurant.”
Wolstenholme Square has seen much change over the last few years with a lot of investment injected into the area with several new high rise apartment blocks built, including on the site of the old Cream superclub.

Rhys Keeley adds:
“We wanted to have our restaurant arm of the business open in time for Valentine’s Day and our team of Chefs have worked tirelessly to get us open.
“When we reopen fully on Friday 21 February the Clockworks menu will be extended to include breakfast, brunch and Sunday roasts. As we move into Spring we will also be looking to open up into our courtyard at the rear of the site as well as outside our main entrance.”
