Coming soon to Liverpool: What you should be getting excited for
2 years ago
By Chris Grundy
So far in 2022 we’ve had some fantastic new openings like Flannels’ flagship store, Manolo: a speakeasy cocktail bar from behind the brains of Santa Chupitos, we’ve even had a Ninja Warrior experience open in Speke… they’ve even managed to complete the road works on Lime Street.
But there’s still more to come, so we’ve put a list together to show you what’s coming soon to Liverpool.Â
BOXPARK
Award-winning dining, retail and leisure operator BOXPARK is to open a brand-new venue in Liverpool, making the group’s first BOXPARK-branded development outside of London.
Located in the historic Canning Hall as part of the Cains Brewery Village estate, in the city’s booming Baltic Triangle, BOXPARK Liverpool will be a brand-new all-day dining and entertainment venue. The ground-breaking new venue will launch late in 2023.
Flannels
Three additional venues will open on the sixth floor this Autumn, including a Rooftop Brasserie, Bar and Pan Asian Restaurant. The venues will have views across the city and will have their own entrance so that guests can party outside of store hours.Â
iStay Castle Street
Set inside a Grade II listed building, the luxury apart-hotel is still in development, and they’re aiming their target market at business users, accessibility users and small groups to stay with them. It comes from the team behind iStay a chain of premier apartments in the city. The view from the rooms will show off the stunning architecture of Castle Street that will be absolutely beautiful to behold.Â
Under Armour store L1
Under Armour Liverpool ONE is set to open later this year on South John Street and will stock the brand’s renowned performance sports apparel, footwear and accessories. Joining the brand’s global presence, Under Armour Liverpool ONE will deliver innovative products and experiences that are designed to enhance customer performance both in sporting pursuits and day-to-day life.Â
Hooters
Hooters are launching their global brand in the heart of Liverpool, the sensational new site is opening soon in New Zealand House, located on Water Street, and is the former home of the iconic Newz Bar. No expense has been spared during the refurbishment of New Zealand House. From the array of high-spec video walls, 80 TV’s and a 50-metre hand-painted sky ceiling, the site is set to be something spectacular.
Gaucho
With the plans of The Ivy falling away, Gaucho has lodged an application with the council to take over the former Bank of Liverpool building on Water Street. The Argentinian steakhouse plans to convert the ground floor of the 15,300 sq ft building with other businesses taking the upper floors.Â
Tonight Josephine
The hotly anticipated cocktail bar and party destination is expected to open officially in on Friday 21 October, on Hanover Street. Guests can expect a glittering cocktail menu, late-night adventures, and a jam-packed schedule of extravagant events, designed to encourage guests to dance at (or on!) their tables whilst singing their hearts out.
Albert Schloss
Opening in Winter 2022, Albert’s Schloss Liverpool will occupy a former food market at Radiant House in Bold Street, set to be brought back to life after lying empty for over three years. Albert’s Schloss have built a retreat from the modern world where they invite you to discover new things, celebrate one another, and revel in the wünder of Schloss. Expect roaring fires, raucous performances, tankards of Europe’s finest bier, and endless naughtiness.
Hawksmoor
This autumn Hawksmoor will be opening in Liverpool; inside the iconic, Grade II-listed India Buildings, on the corner of Brunswick Street and Fenwick Street. The menus revolve around the best ingredients they can find – whether it be beef from grass-fed traditionally reared cattle, sustainable seafood from around the British coast, seasonal fruits and vegetables or great British cheeses.Â
Gravity – Debenhams siteÂ
We’re so excited that Liverpool is set to receive the biggest Gravity venue ever this Winter, at the previous Debenhams location in Liverpool ONE. Get ready to experience entertainment, adrenaline and fun across multiple floors and their outdoor terrace.
Race all-electric go-karts through busy, multi-level Japanese streets to test your skill, reflexes and nerve. Take a swing at batting cages, one of the first in the UK to offer cricket, baseball & tennis games (Wimbledon whites optional). You can also sing your heart out at their top of the range Karaoke booths with over 30,000 songs to choose from.
